Women Leadership Programme (WLP 2026) at NIT Calicut | 23–24 February 2026

The Women Leadership Programme (WLP 2026), organized by the Centre for Women Welfare and Social Empowerment (CWSE) at National Institute of Technology Calicut, stands as a vibrant flagship initiative dedicated to empowering students and young women on campus to discover their leadership potential, build confidence, and lead with integrity and purpose. Rooted in the campus ecosystem, the programme nurtures future-ready women leaders committed to inclusive, innovative, and sustainable national development, creating a dynamic platform where learning meets inspiration and aspiration transforms into action.

WLP 2026 featured an inspiring line-up of eminent women leaders from academia, research, industry, and public administration. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Aghila G., Honourable Director of National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, in the presence of Prof. Sunitha M.S., Dean (Faculty and Staff Welfare), and Dr. S. Bhuvaneshwari, Chairperson, CWSE. Dr. Usha Natesan, Honourable Director of National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research Chennai, delivered a compelling address on “Breaking Barriers – Building Confidence, Creating Change.” Dr. Deepa Sethi of Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode spoke on Executive Presence and Personal Branding, while Prof. Anuradda Ganesh of Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Co-founder of Arantree Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd. highlighted Women Leadership in Education and Research. Dr. Shakila T. Shamsu, Visiting Professor at National Institute of Technology Calicut, emphasized women as architects of India’s knowledge future. Dr. Saundarya Rajesh, Managing Director of Avtar Group, inspired participants with “Miracles and Metamorphosis,” and Dr. Peeja Rajan, State Coordinator – Kerala at UN Women and Gender Park, underscored the importance of gender-inclusive public spaces by adapting global frameworks to local realities.

Together, their voices ignited confidence, courage, and a renewed commitment among young women faculty members and research scholars to lead with purpose and vision.
