NIT Calicut collaborates with CWE Jhansi (Indian Army) for sustainable future via Geothermal -Based Net Zero Energy Building
Under the leadership of Hon. Director Prof. Prasad Krishna and Prof. A. Shaija, Chairperson, Centre for Clean Energy and Circular Economy (CCECE), NIT Calicut, proudly announces the collaboration with Col. Akhil Singh Charak, Indian Army in association with Mr. Arijit Ghosh, Managing Director, SAP Automation Pvt. Ltd. on validating India’s first geothermal-based Net Zero Energy Building at CWE Jhansi.
On 27th March 2025, Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma and Dr. Deepa S N from CCECE, NIT Calicut visited the Geothermal-Based Net Zero Energy Building at CWE Jhansi. During their visit, they had insightful interactions with Col. Akhil Singh Charak and Mr. Arijit Ghosh, discussing the future of Sustainable Defense Infrastructure and the potential of Geothermal Technology for Heating and Cooling Applications in India.
This collaboration between NIT Calicut and the Indian Army is a significant step towards pioneering energy-efficient innovations and fostering cutting-edge research in green infrastructure and reducing carbon footprints in critical infrastructure.
