The foundation stone of MHB-II laid by Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J AbdulKalam(former president of India) on 15th October   2009, in the presence of Padmashri.  Dr. V.V.Saraswat scientific advisor to Rakshamantri Secretary and Director General, DRDO, Sri.S.C.Thripathi,IAS(Retd.)Chairman,Board of Governors,NIT,Calicut and Dr.G.R.C.Reddy, Director,NIT,Calicut.

The hostelwas inaugurated by Shri.SanjayDhotre, Honorable Union Minister of State for Education,Govt.of India on February 26,2021 in the function presided over by Shri. M K.Raghavan, Honorable MP Kozhikode, Shri.GajjalaYoganand, Chairperson,Board of Governors. Dr.P.S.Sathidevi Director in charge. This project was executed by Palakkad project zone central public works department.

A block consists of 9 floors,and its functioning commenced on July 26,2022.  The block is a spacious with sufficient ventilation and light.Each floor is equipped with four common bathrooms.A block has capacity of 1108 students. Total 554 student’s rooms are available for accommodation.  Second year UG students are staying with double occupancy.  A block has an office room, warden’s room and two messes.

FACILITIES

The following facilities are provided to the residents of MHB-II (A Block)

• Common rooms are arranged with LED TV,Table Tennis,Carrom Board, Chess Board etc. in  D block.

• one volleyball court 

• Two badminton courts

• One multipurpose co-operative store 

• Milma snacks parlour is also running in D-block

• Accommodation type : 2 Sharing

HOSTEL STAFF

• For managing Hostel activities, Warden and Caretaker are available in the Hostel from 09.00 AM TO 05.30 PM in working days.

• The service of two Attendants isalso available in A- block for 24x7.

• 8 sanitation workers are on duty from Monday to Saturday (07.30AM to 04.30PM).
