High End Workshop (CIS Summer School) on "AI for Disaster Resilience: Prediction, Preparedness, and Post-Disaster Management " from 15th - 19th December 2025.

The Centre for Climate Resilience and Disaster Management (C–CRDM) and Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CoE–AI), NIT Calicut are jointly organizing a five-day high-end workshop on “AI for Disaster Resilience: Prediction, Preparedness, and Post-Disaster Management” in association with IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) and IEEE NITC Student Branch during December 15–19, 2025.
The workshop aims to build participant expertise in applying Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) for disaster prediction, real-time monitoring, and post-disaster recovery. It includes expert sessions by faculty from IITs, NITs, and leading R&D/industry professionals. The program is designed to promote interdisciplinary learning and foster the development of AI-driven frameworks for climate resilience and sustainable disaster management. This course provides an overview of AI and emerging technologies for disaster resilience, covering computational intelligence, IoT, edge computing, remote sensing, and drone-based monitoring. Participants gain hands-on experience in the methodologies of disaster prediction, preparedness, recovery, and sustainable infrastructure planning. The following are the key topics of the workshop:
