3 days workshop on Workforce Development for Industrial Decarbonisation Technologies, March 25-27, 2026, NIT Calicut.
As India commits to a 45% reduction in GDP emissions intensity by 2030 and a Net Zero target by 2070, the industrial landscape is undergoing a monumental shift. The Union Budget 2026’s ₹20,000 crore allocation for Carbon Capture and Utilization ensures a significant surge in green jobs across the steel, cement, and refinery sectors.
This workshop bridges the gap between established engineering curricula and transformative technologies like Green Hydrogen and Carbon Capture. Participants will gain core competencies in solvent based carbon capture, utilization and sequestration of captured carbon, MOF-based catalytic systems for hydrogen production and hydrates for storage, biomass pyrolysis for biofuels.
By blending foundational principles of process engineering with practical insights into design and operation, we empower the next generation of engineers to lead global’s sustainable transition. Attendees will interact with experts from IIT Madras and industry leaders to secure high-impact roles in the evolving global workforce. Join us at NIT Calicut to participate in active climate action and master the tools of a decarbonised future.
