NIT Calicut brings accolades - Chess and Badminton Teams show remarkable performance at All India Inter NIT Faculty and Staff Sports Tournament 2023
National Institute of Technology Calicut came out victorious in the All India Inter NIT Faculty and Staff Sports Tournament 2023, hosted at MANIT Bhopal from December 21–23.
The highlight of the tournament was the stellar performance of the Badminton teams, which clinched top honours in both Below 50 and Above 50 Men categories. The Below 50 Men team secured the coveted First position whereas the Above 50 Men team achieved a commendable Second Runner-Up position
The Chess team achieved the distinguished Second Runner-Up position. Their outstanding performance brought honour to NITC and set a benchmark for excellence.
Individual Brilliance Recognized
The Badminton (Below 50) team, comprised of Dr Gokul Raj, Mr Abhilash A, Dr Sajan T John, Dr Subhash K M, and Dr Nikhil Sasidharan, demonstrated exceptional skills and teamwork, setting a high standard for sportsmanship.
The Badminton (Above 50) team, consisting of Mr Suresh KC, Mr Climson C R, Mr Somanath KA, Mr Manoj K G, and Mr Sasi K K, showcased commendable sportsmanship and determination, securing the Second Runner-Up position.
The Chess Team, led by Dr Muhammad Shafi, Dr Sai Saketha Chandra Arthurian, Dr Arun Babu K, and Mr.Abhijith T Binu, displayed strategic brilliance throughout the tournament.
