Science and Spirituality Club, Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems, conducted a workshop on Innovation and Adaptability: Mahabharata's Timeless Relevance in a Rapidly Changing Business Landscape

The Science and Spirituality Club functioning under the Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems, NITC conducted a Workshop on 16th March 2024 on the topic "Innovation and Adaptability: Mahabharata's Timeless Relevance in a Rapidly Changing Business Landscape". Two lectures were delivered by Sri. Debasis Satapathy, Chief General Manager, HR, National Building Construction Corporation, New Delhi, from 10 am. to 2.00 pm in Bhaskara Hall. A total of 155 participants consisting of students belonging to B.Tech., B.Arch., and M. Tech. programmes, faculty and staff attended the Workshop.

The four-hour session familiarized the students with themes related to Mahabharata which are relevant to modern day Business. Using video clips from the TV Serial Mahabharata, and still images of incidents in the Mahabharata, Sri. Debasis illustrated how Karna despite repeated setbacks rises to be a leader; Yudhishtra's crisis management when all his brothers are poisoned after drinking water from a lake belonging to a Yaksha; Inspiring and motivating leadership of Arjuna; Innovative thinking which prevents Bheeshma from taking up arms against a woman during a crucial war and several other related topics. The participants of the workshop were gifted with a book entitled Simplified Bhagavad Gita.

In the evening, from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, the talented students-team of the Science and Spirituality Club offered a theatrical performance bringing alive the essence of the Mahabharata's spirit. It was a wonderful performance through dance and music.
