NIT Calicut and Directorate of General Education organised two-day workshop for school teachers 

Sasthrarangam and gifted children club coordinators are attending the two-day workshop

National Institute of Technology and Directorate of General Education jointly organised a two day workshop at NIT Calicut on Tuesday and Wednesday. Over 50 teacher coordinators of Sastrarangam and Gifted Children Club from different parts of Kerala Participated in the workshop.

The programme was conducted aiming to equip the teacher coordinators to identify and nurture school children to take up innovation. Identifying innovative ideas and encouraging innovative mindsets among children by imparting training to teachers was the aim of the programme. 


Prof Prasad Krishna, Director of NIT Calicut,  expressed his happiness on this great initiative of the Government of Kerala to train the school teachers to function as coordinators of innovation clubs in their respective schools through his message. We, being an institution of national importance,  takes pride in partnering with the Government of Kerala in strengthening the innovation ecosystem in the school education sector, he said.

Prof. J Sudhakumar,  Director in Charge of NITC opened the workshop. Prof. S Ashok, chairperson of the Centre for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Incubation presided over the programme. 
Faculty members from various departments at NIT Calicut, entrepreneurs and others handled sessions at the two-day workshop. The teacher coordinators also visited the laboratories at NITC. 

The programme was coordinated by the Centre for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Incubation.
