Consulate general of Japan visited NITC

Consulate General of Japan, H.E TAGA MASAYUKI visited National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) on Monday, 24th April 2023. The Center for International Relations and Foreign Languages (CIRFL) organized the event to honor the Consulate General. The programme focused on promoting cultural and academic exchange between India and Japan.

Cdmr. Dr.Shyamsundara, Registrar delivered the welcome address, where he emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and its role in building stronger ties between nations. Prof. Ravi Varma, Chairperson of CIRFL, gave a brief overview of the center's mission and activities. He highlighted the growing demand for Japanese language education in India. Professor Sathidevi PS, Deputy Director of NIT Calicut, delivered the presidential address, commending on the achievements of NITC and emphasizing the importance of language education and cultural exchange in the current global climate.

The highlight of the event was the release of the certificates to the students who will complete the NITC-JF Marugato program by the Chief Guest, H.E TAGA MASAYUKI, the Consulate General of Japan. The certificates mark a significant achievement for the students and demonstrate the growing partnership between NITC and Japan.

H.E TAGA MASAYUKI then delivered the keynote address, focusing on the Indo-Japan relationship as a special strategic and global partnership. He praised the efforts of NITC in promoting Japanese language education and expressed his hope for further collaboration in the future. The event also included an interactive session with the Consulate General, where participants could ask questions and share their views on the Indo-Japan relationship.

Dr. Baiju G Nair, Vice Chairperson of CIRFL, delivered the vote of thanks. The event was a great success, highlighting the value of language education and cultural exchange in promoting cross-cultural understanding and cooperation. The ceremony marked an important milestone in the partnership between NITC and Japan and serves as a testament to the value of international collaboration in education and beyond.
