The social and economic life of society is getting increasingly dependent on the Information and Communication Technologies. The technical revolution in the area of telecommunications has irreversibly changed the economy of every nation and dynamics of every society. Many recent analyses done on the Telecommunication sector in India predicts huge growth of sector in coming decades. The two year M.Tech programme is aimed at producing high quality man power in the area. The curriculum of the programme is designed so as to make the students knowledgeable in the fundamental concepts involved, trained in the basic skill sets required, familiar with the latest technological advances made and sensitive to the social and ethical issues’ entailed in the very important subject.

 

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) for M.Tech Telecommunication

PEO1 : Graduates apply their knowledge in mathematics, signal processing and communications for fostering skills to, identify, analyze and solve engineering problems pertaining to design, development and deployment of telecommunication systems.

PEO2 : Graduates demonstrate high levels of creativity, critical thinking, research aptitude and technical and communication skills for productive and successful careers in industries, R and D organizations and other allied professions.

PEO3 :  Graduates possess commitment to professional ethics and sensitivity to diverse societal needs in their professional careers.

PEO4 : Graduates exhibit a desire for life-long learning through technical b, teaching, research and developmental activities, participation in conferences/workshops and professional societies.

 

Programme Outcomes (POs) and Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs) for M.Tech Telecommunication

PO1 : An ability to independently carry out research /investigation and development work to solve practical problems

PO2 : An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document

PO3 : Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program

PSO1 : Ability to learn the latest technologies and products in the area of Communication & Networking.

PSO2 : Competence in using modern tools (software and hardware) for the design and analysis of systems based on communications technology and information networking.
