Dr.Althaf S , Assistant Professor
I can call myself a budding applied economist, more a public policy analyst by training with some expertise in empirical research questions and data driven policy making. I am getting curious and developing respect for qualitative research methods taking cognizance of the reality that data can’t always answer our questions.
I am interested in the themes of urbanization, political economy and development, but I have a growing interest towards corporate governance, agency issues, business and public policy and similar strategy concerns.
I enjoy teaching especially the undergraduate crowd and wish to adopt a case based and activity-oriented pedagogy. Teaching Firm- Industry Analysis and Multivariate Data Analysis to MBAs was the best pedagogic experience till date.

Ideologically I am a public-sector evangelist who feels that public institutions should stay in every sector of Indian economy. This, I believe, would be crucial to pursue our constitutional goals of welfare state, justice and equality.
